So Barbara kept going. 100 applications. 15 interviews. Setback after setback. But she refused to quit.

If she’d quit, she would have denied her dad the opportunity to see his baby girl win. She would have denied herself the chance to be proud of who she became. She would have broken the promises she made to herself.
